Business Challenge

No digital presence before a major trade event

IAGT International is an Indian exporter of agricultural products β€” basmati rice, cumin, turmeric, lentils, cashews, and more. They supply to importers across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America. Their business was entirely relationship-driven: trade shows, phone calls, and WhatsApp messages.

They had no website. When a sourcing manager in Dubai searched "Indian basmati rice exporter," IAGT didn't exist online. Competitors with professional websites were getting the inquiries. With an international trade event 10 days away, IAGT needed a digital catalog that could present their full product range to global buyers.

The challenge wasn't just building fast β€” it was building something that would establish immediate credibility with international buyers who evaluate suppliers based on their web presence. A template site with stock food photos wouldn't cut it.

Goals

  • Launch a professional B2B catalog before the trade event in 10 days
  • Present 5+ product categories with detailed specifications for importers
  • Capture qualified export inquiries with trade-specific form fields
  • Rank for 'Indian [product] exporter' keywords for global search visibility
  • Load fast on 4G connections at trade shows and logistics hubs

Constraints

  • 10-day hard deadline β€” trade event registration required a live website
  • Product images must look premium without a professional photoshoot
  • Must work on unreliable trade show wifi and 4G connections
  • Design must balance agricultural authenticity with corporate professionalism

Solution

What we built and why

Tabbed Product Catalog

Importers browse by category β€” they're looking for 'Indian cumin' or 'basmati rice,' not scrolling through a mixed product feed. The tab-based navigation lets buyers jump directly to their category of interest and see all products with specifications (origin, variety, available packaging, MOQ) in a scannable format.

Trade-Specific Inquiry Form

Instead of a generic 'Contact Us,' the inquiry form asks: product category, estimated quantity, destination country, and preferred Incoterms (FOB, CIF, etc.). This pre-qualifies every lead β€” the sales team knows exactly what the buyer wants and can prepare a specific quote before the first call.

Agricultural Design Language

High-contrast dark theme with earthy green and warm amber accents. The design communicates both agricultural authenticity and corporate professionalism β€” essential for B2B trade where visual credibility directly influences whether a buyer contacts you. No stock photos; all product imagery from IAGT's actual catalog.

Trade Show Performance

Total page weight under 800KB. Critical content loads in 1.2s on 4G. Product images use progressive loading β€” buyers see content immediately even on slow connections. IAGT's sales team can hand someone their phone at a trade booth and the catalog loads before the pitch starts.

Technology Stack

Why we chose each tool

N

Next.js 16

Server-side rendering ensures every product category page is immediately indexable by Google. Static generation for catalog pages means zero server load during trade show traffic spikes.

T

Tailwind CSS v4

Rapid styling with an earthy design system β€” deep greens, warm ambers, and organic textures that communicate agricultural authenticity without looking amateur.

P

Product Schema

Each product category gets structured data with specifications (origin, variety, packaging, MOQ). This enables Google to show rich product cards when importers search for 'Indian basmati rice supplier.'

W

WebP Image Pipeline

High-resolution product images are critical for agro trade (importers evaluate quality visually). Next.js Image component serves WebP with responsive sizing, achieving 1.2s LCP even on 4G.

V

Vercel Edge Network

Import inquiries come from Dubai, Singapore, London, and New York. Edge CDN ensures the catalog loads fast regardless of the buyer's location.

Engineering Challenges

Problems we solved

Premium Images on 4G

Agricultural product images need to look premium β€” importers evaluate product quality visually. But high-resolution images kill load times on the 4G connections common at trade shows and logistics offices.

Solution: Next.js Image component with three optimizations: automatic WebP conversion (40% smaller than JPEG at same quality), responsive srcset (mobile gets 640px, desktop gets 1200px), and priority loading for above-fold hero images with lazy loading for the catalog grid. Total page weight stays under 800KB.

Credibility in 10 Days

A 10-day timeline typically means template territory. But a template B2B site signals "small operation" to international buyers who evaluate suppliers by their web presence.

Solution: We focused design effort on three high-impact areas: (1) the hero section with a bold product showcase, (2) the tabbed catalog with specification grids, and (3) the inquiry form with trade-specific fields. These three sections establish credibility. Supporting pages used a streamlined layout system. Custom where it matters, efficient everywhere else.

"

GenForge delivered our website in exactly 10 days β€” right before the trade event. At the expo, we were handing out business cards with our website URL and buyers were browsing our catalog on their phones right there at the booth. The inquiry form brought in 3 qualified leads during the event itself.

FAQ

Questions about this project

Why does an agricultural exporter need a custom website?+
B2B agro trade is still heavily relationship-driven, but the first touchpoint has moved online. When a sourcing manager in Dubai searches 'Indian cumin supplier,' they evaluate the first 3-4 websites they find. A template website with stock photos signals 'small operation.' A custom catalog with detailed product specifications, origin markers, and professional photography signals 'established exporter worth contacting.' The website doesn't close deals β€” it gets IAGT onto the shortlist.
How did you handle product photography for agricultural products?+
We worked with IAGT's existing product photography and enhanced it with Next.js Image optimization β€” automatic WebP conversion, responsive sizing (different resolutions for mobile/tablet/desktop), and lazy loading for below-fold images. The hero images use priority loading for instant display. This approach achieves 1.2s LCP without requiring a professional photoshoot.
What's the inquiry form strategy for B2B export leads?+
Generic 'Contact Us' forms don't work for B2B trade. Our inquiry form asks trade-specific questions: product category, estimated quantity (MOQ), destination country, and preferred Incoterms. This pre-qualifies leads β€” IAGT's sales team knows exactly what the buyer wants before the first email. It also filters out non-serious inquiries that would waste their time.
How does the website perform at trade shows?+
Trade show wifi is notoriously unreliable. We optimized the catalog for 4G connections β€” total page weight under 800KB, critical content loads in 1.2s, and product images use progressive loading so buyers see content immediately even on slow connections. IAGT can hand someone their phone and the catalog loads before the conversation starts.
Can you build a similar B2B catalog for our export business?+
Yes. The IAGT build took 10 days. We need: your product catalog with specifications, high-resolution images, your target buyer regions (for SEO and schema), and your sales team's qualification criteria for the inquiry form. We handle design, development, SEO, schema markup, and deployment.
