GenForge Studio is a small engineering studio in Lucknow. We build custom web products — websites, web applications and SaaS platforms — for companies in India and the UAE.
We are deliberately small, and everyone here writes code. When you hire us, the people on the first call are the people who build the thing.
Why we started
I started GenForge because I kept seeing the same thing: businesses paying real money for websites that looked finished and did not work. Slow, unfindable, impossible to update without going back to whoever built them — and often not even owned by the people who paid for them.
The tooling to do it properly exists and is not exotic. Next.js, a real CMS, performance treated as a requirement rather than a nice-to-have. What was missing was anyone willing to do that work at a price an Indian SME could actually pay.
So that is what GenForge does. Custom builds, technical SEO in the architecture, and the full repository handed over at the end — because a website you cannot take with you was never really yours.
How we work
Four decisions that shape everything else:
Everyone here writes code.
No account managers, no layer between you and the person building your product. It is why we stay small and why we turn down work we cannot staff.
Fixed price, written scope.
The proposal figure is the final figure, and the proposal lists what is not included. Hourly billing transfers all estimation risk to the client, which we think is backwards.
You own everything at handover.
Full repository, deployment configuration, documentation, Figma files. No licences, no proprietary builder, no reason you need us next year unless you want us.
We say no.
If your budget does not match your scope, if a template would serve you better, or if we think the idea has a problem — you hear it on the first call. We lose work this way. We also do not have projects that go wrong six weeks in.
Who you're actually working with
No sales reps, no junior handoffs. You work directly with the two engineers building your platform.
Writes the architecture and most of the code. Next.js, React, Node.js, and the technical SEO layer that goes into every build. Handles every project from the first call through to handover.
On being two people:
Most agencies our size present themselves as twenty. We would rather tell you the truth, because the truth is the selling point. A two-person senior team means the people who scoped your project are the people who build it, and nothing gets handed to a junior after you sign. It also means we take on fewer projects than we are asked to, which is the trade-off and we would rather you know it upfront.

Our clients are mostly Indian SMEs, international startups and founder-led businesses. We work across healthcare, real estate, education, D2C, legal and professional services — sectors where the website is a trust document before it is a marketing asset.
What we've built
Seventy-plus projects, including a multi-vendor marketplace, a multi-tenant HR platform, an Ayurvedic e-commerce store with three shipping integrations, and a good number of the business websites that pay for the interesting ones.
What “you own the code” actually means
At handover you receive the complete Git repository with full history, the deployment configuration and environment setup, the documentation to run and modify it, and the Figma design files.
There is no theme licence, no page-builder subscription, no proprietary framework, and no component of your site that stops working if you stop paying us. Any competent Next.js developer can pick it up.

This is written into the contract. We do it because the alternative — building products clients cannot leave — is a business model we did not want to have.
Where we are
Based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. We work remotely with clients across India, the UAE and North America, with working hours that overlap the Gulf almost entirely and Europe substantially.
Clients in Lucknow are welcome to meet in person. Everyone else gets Google Meet, Slack and a shared project dashboard — and in practice, weekly demos on a staging URL do more than a meeting does.
