Technical SEO & Code Remediation

Why Dubai companies hire engineering teams outside the UAE.

Dubai has no shortage of web development companies. It has a shortage of ones that will tell you what your project actually costs and then hand you the code.

Cost, without the quality trade-off.
A mid-tier Dubai agency prices a 10-page corporate site around AED 22,000 and a WordPress e-commerce build around AED 24,000. Most of that is office rent, account management and sales commission — not engineering hours. We carry none of that overhead and pass it through.
Stack.
A large share of Dubai's agency market still ships WordPress, Magento and Core PHP. That is fine for a brochure site. It is a poor foundation for anything that needs to load fast on a mobile network, survive a plugin author abandoning their project, or scale past a few thousand daily users.
Ownership.
Ask any agency what happens to your codebase if you stop working with them. If the answer involves a licence, a proprietary builder or a monthly fee to keep the site running, you do not own your website — you are renting it.

We are not in Dubai. If your project genuinely requires weekly in-person workshops, hire a local firm — we will say so on the first call rather than after you have signed. Most projects do not require this, and we will be straight with you about which yours is.

What “built for the UAE” actually means in the code.

Most agency pages say they understand the UAE market. Here is the specific technical work that phrase should cover — and the questions to ask any agency claiming it.

01

Payment gateways, chosen on economics.

Gateway choice is a financial decision that gets treated as a technical one. The difference between a 2.4% and a 2.9% rate on AED 2 million of annual volume is AED 10,000 a year. Settlement timing affects your working capital just as much.

GatewayUAE cardInternationalSettlementLocal methods
Network International2.4–2.9% + AED 13.4–3.9% + AED 1T+1 to T+2Mada, Apple Pay
Tap Payments2.75%3.25% + FXT+1Mada, KNET, Apple Pay, Google Pay
Telr2.49% + AED 0.503.49% + AED 0.50T+2 to T+3Mada, Apple Pay, Tabby
PayTabs2.85% + AED 0.273.5% + AED 1T+2 to T+3Mada, KNET, Apple Pay, Tabby

Stripe2.9% + AED 13.9% + AED 1T+2Apple Pay, Google Pay — no Mada
Mamo Business2.9% + AED 1, or 1.9% on AED 399/mo3.2% + AED 0.80T+1Apple Pay; Tabby at 6.9% + AED 1

Rates as published September 2026. Verify current pricing before committing.

Two things this table makes obvious. Stripe is the default developers reach for and it does not support Mada — if you sell to Saudi customers, that is a meaningful share of checkout abandonment you will never see in your analytics. If your average order value is high, the AED 399/month Mamo plan at 1.9% beats every percentage-only option above roughly AED 40,000 monthly volume.

02

VAT, handled at the data layer.

UAE VAT is 5%. Registration is mandatory once taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over a rolling 12-month period, and voluntary from AED 187,500. Non-resident businesses making taxable sales into the UAE must register immediately, regardless of volume.

For a web build this means VAT cannot be a display setting. It has to be stored per line item, per tax rate, with the rate at time of transaction retained — because a refund issued next year must use the rate that applied at purchase, not today’s. Getting this wrong is invisible until your first audit or your first cross-border sale.

03

E-invoicing: the deadline nobody in this market is talking about.

The UAE is rolling out mandatory e-invoicing, and the timeline is closer than most businesses realise.

  1. Voluntary pilot phase

    Jul – Dec 2026

    Running now
  2. ASP appointment deadline, Phase 1

    30 Oct 2026

    Critical
  3. Phase 1 mandatory — revenue AED 50m+

  4. ASP appointment deadline, Phase 2

    31 Mar 2027

  5. Phase 2 mandatory — all remaining in-scope

    1 Jul 2027

Framework

Peppol-based — the FTA’s five-corner DCTCE model. Invoices must be issued as structured XML (PINT-AE or UBL), transmitted in real time through an FTA-accredited service provider to both the recipient and the FTA, and retained for five years. PDF and paper invoices become invalid.

Penalties

  • AED 5,000 per month for failure to implement or appoint an ASP
  • AED 100 per late document, capped at AED 5,000 monthly
  • AED 1,000 per day for delayed notification of a system failure

Why this belongs on a web development page: if we are building your marketplace, SaaS product, B2B portal or any system that issues invoices, that system has to emit compliant structured XML through an accredited provider. Building it now costs a fraction of retrofitting it in 2027. Not one competing agency page in this search result mentions any of this.

Confirm current requirements with the FTA or your tax advisor — we build to the spec, we do not give tax advice.

04

Arabic and RTL, done properly.

Right-to-left is not a stylesheet flip. It is mirrored layout logic, correct Arabic typography with fonts that render numerals and diacritics properly, bidirectional text handling where Arabic and Latin mix in one string, locale-aware date and currency formatting, and hreflang set up so Google serves the right language version. We build Arabic support into the routing and component layer from the start when you need it. Retrofitting it later means touching every component you have.

05

Performance on the networks your customers actually use.

Our builds average 90+ on Lighthouse. That number matters more in the Gulf than in Europe, because a meaningful share of UAE traffic arrives on mobile over networks where a 4MB JavaScript bundle is the difference between a sale and a bounce. We host on infrastructure with edge presence near the region rather than defaulting to a US-East server and hoping. Where data residency is a contractual requirement — common in government-adjacent and healthcare work — we will tell you what that costs before you commit.

Market context

The Dubai agency currently ranking first for this search publishes AED 11,000 for a 5-page CMS site, AED 22,000 for 10 pages and AED 33,000 for 15 - built on WordPress. We deliver enterprise Next.js architectures for comparable cost.

Working with a team outside the UAE.

The objection is legitimate, so here is the honest answer rather than a reassurance.

Remote delivery

Time zones work in your favour.
India is 1.5 hours ahead of the UAE. Our working day overlaps yours almost completely — this is not a US or Eastern European team you reach for two hours a day.
You talk to engineers.
No account manager relaying your requirements to a developer you never meet. The person answering your question is the person writing the code.
Staging from day one.
You get a live URL in the first week and watch the build take shape. Weekly demos, not a reveal at the end.
Contracts and IP.
Written contracts with clearly assigned IP, NDA on request before the first call, and full repository transfer at handover.
Payment.
Milestone-based. Typically 40% to start, 40% at staging approval, 20% at launch. AED bank transfer or wire.

Why we don’t build WordPress sites.

A fair share of Dubai’s market runs on WordPress, so this deserves a straight answer rather than a sales line.

Performance

That gap is Core Web Vitals, and Core Web Vitals is a ranking factor.

Next.js build

Next.js builds average 90+ on Lighthouse.

WordPress

Plugin-heavy WordPress sites routinely land in the 40–60 range.

Security surface

Each is an independently maintained dependency with its own update cadence and abandonment risk.

Next.js build

The dependencies you chose, and nothing else.

WordPress

A typical WordPress site runs 15–30 third-party plugins.

Three-year cost

Over three years this frequently exceeds the difference in build price.

Next.js build

Managed hosting sized for a static bundle.

WordPress

Premium plugin licences, PHP-priced hosting, security monitoring, and developer hours every time an update breaks something.

If your team needs to restructure pages weekly without a developer, WordPress does that better. If your budget is genuinely under AED 10,000, WordPress is the right call and we will tell you so. We are not the cheapest option in Dubai and we do not pretend to be.

How to choose the best web development company in Dubai.

Four of the top ten results for this search are listicles that rank agencies without publishing a single criterion. Here is a checklist you can actually apply — to us as much as to anyone else.

  1. 01

    Who owns the code?

If the answer involves a licence, a proprietary builder or an ongoing fee to keep the site live, you are renting.

  2. 02

Ask for a Lighthouse score on a site they built.

Not a promise — a live URL you can test yourself in thirty seconds. Most cannot produce one.

  3. 03

Which payment gateway would they recommend, and why?

If the answer is not about rates, settlement timing and Mada support, they have not thought about your economics.

  4. 04

    What happens after launch?

Support period, response times, who fixes a production bug at 9pm.

  5. 05

    Ask for a fixed price.

Time-and-materials on a defined scope transfers all estimation risk to you.

  6. 06

Ask who you will actually talk to.

Sales engineer on the pitch, junior developer on the build is the most common pattern in this market.

  7. 07

    Ask about e-invoicing.

If the project involves B2B invoicing and they have no answer, they are not tracking UAE regulation.

  8. 08

Check the stack against your five-year plan.

A platform that fits today and blocks you in year two is a costly saving.

Frequently asked questions

Answers regarding UAE payment gateways, 5% VAT architecture, full code ownership, and remote delivery.

Business websites run AED 12,000–20,000, e-commerce AED 25,000–55,000, and web applications AED 45,000–120,000. Dubai-based agencies typically quote 1.5–2× these figures for comparable scope, largely because of local overhead. We work on fixed-price contracts, so the proposal figure is final.
No. We are an engineering team based in Lucknow, India, delivering to clients across the UAE. India is 1.5 hours ahead of Gulf Standard Time, so our working day overlaps yours almost entirely. If your project genuinely needs weekly in-person sessions, we will tell you on the first call.
Network International, Telr, PayTabs, Tap Payments, Checkout.com, Stripe and Mamo Business, plus Tabby and Tamara for buy-now-pay-later. We help you pick based on transaction rates, settlement timing and whether you need Mada support for Saudi customers — Stripe does not offer it.
Yes. We build full right-to-left support: mirrored layouts, correct Arabic typography, bidirectional text handling, locale-aware date and currency formatting, and hreflang configured so Google serves the right version. Arabic support is designed into the routing and component layer from the start rather than retrofitted.
VAT is 5%, with mandatory registration above AED 375,000 in taxable supplies over a rolling 12 months and voluntary registration from AED 187,500. We store VAT per line item with the rate applicable at time of transaction, so refunds and historical reporting stay correct. We build to the specification; we do not provide tax advice.
The voluntary pilot is running from July to December 2026. Phase 1 becomes mandatory on 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, with an ASP appointment deadline of 30 October 2026. Phase 2 follows on 1 July 2027 for remaining in-scope businesses. The framework is Peppol-based and requires structured XML invoices transmitted through an accredited service provider.
Business websites: 2–4 weeks. E-commerce: 4–8 weeks. Web applications and SaaS MVPs: 8–16 weeks. That covers design, development, testing and deployment. Our fastest end-to-end delivery was seven days on a tightly scoped brief — an exception, not a promise.
Completely. Full repository, deployment configuration and documentation transfer to you at handover. No licensing, no proprietary framework, no requirement to keep working with us. This is written into the contract.
Yes. We map every existing URL, set up 301 redirects, preserve metadata and content structure, and monitor Search Console through the transition. We regularly migrate WordPress, PHP, Wix and Squarespace sites to Next.js.
Performance, security surface and three-year cost. Next.js builds average 90+ on Lighthouse where plugin-heavy WordPress sites typically land at 40–60, there is no plugin dependency chain to be exploited or abandoned, and hosting costs less over time. The honest trade-off: if your team needs to restructure pages weekly without a developer, WordPress handles that better.
Yes, on request, before the first technical discussion.
Thirty days of support are included in every build — bug fixes, adjustments and handover questions. After that, ongoing maintenance and technical SEO retainers are available, or you take it in-house with the full codebase and documentation.
Milestone-based: typically 40% to start, 40% at staging approval, 20% at launch. AED bank transfer or international wire. Contracts specify scope, timeline and IP assignment in writing.
Yes — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and across the UAE, plus clients in India and North America.
